How to Request Account Deletion

We're sorry to see you go. You can permanently delete your Swim Buddy account and all associated data at any time.

Option 1: Delete From Inside the App (Fastest)
  1. Open the Swim Buddy app and sign in.

  2. Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation.

  3. Tap Settings (gear icon in the top right).

  4. Scroll down and tap Delete Account.

  5. Confirm your choice when prompted.

Your account and personal data will be permanently removed within 24 hours.

Option 2: Request Deletion by Email

If you no longer have access to the app, send an email to info@swimbuddyapp.com with:

  • Subject line: "Delete My Account"

  • The email address associated with your Swim Buddy account

  • Your full name (as shown on your profile)

We will verify your identity and process your deletion request within 7 business days.

What Data Is Deleted

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:

  • Your name, email address, and profile photo

  • Swim sessions, tasks, goals, and training logs

  • Coach/swimmer connections and messages

  • Notifications and app preferences

  • Authentication credentials

What Data Is Retained

For legal, security, and fraud-prevention purposes, we may retain limited information for up to 90 days after deletion, including:

  • Anonymized usage analytics (cannot be linked back to you)

  • Transaction and billing records (retained as required by law, typically up to 7 years)

  • Records related to fraud, abuse, or active legal investigations

After the retention period, all remaining personal data is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems.
